Marden Park Community Centre and Park – Guelph Eramosa Township

Located on Wellington Road 30, Marden Park is home to sports fields, natural areas, wetlands, picnic shelters, trails, playgrounds and an enabling garden. Marden Park Community Centre and Park – Guelph Eramosa Township

The Enabling Garden, located behind the Marden Library and Community Centre on Wellington Road 30, was inspired by a donation left to the Guelph Township Horticultural Society from Past President, Marian Brennan. This was a joint project of the Horticultural Society, Township of Guelph/Eramosa and the County of Wellington. The purpose of the Enabling Garden is to stimulate all the senses and to provide an accessible space, to be enjoyed by people of all abilities. The large cedar pergola casts filtered shade on much of the patio that has been designed to allow residents with varying ability easy access throughout the garden. Many of the plants have either come from gardens of community members or been purchased with donations from the community. There are now over one hundred species represented in the garden.

A row of ornamental pears ushers you into the Garden. There, you can rest on one of the three benches and listen to the burbling rock, while enjoying the fragrances and visual beauty. Butterflies are regular visitors and birds like to dabble in the water burbling from the rock. Marden Park Community Centre and Park – Guelph Eramosa Township

The Enabling Garden, is open throughout the year. The Garden is maintained by the Guelph Township Horticultural Society, with assistance from the Guelph/Eramosa Parks and Recreation Department. We invite you to stop by to enjoy the sights, sounds and scents that the Garden has to offer. This is a great place for family photos, picnics or just a special spot to relax and read a book or have coffee with friends. Marden Park Community Centre and Park – Guelph Eramosa Township
