Nautilus X-Series XL Max Fly Reel

The Nautilus® X-Series XL Max Fly Reel:

Designed with an open frame the Nautilus X-Series is designed to be lightweight, strong, have a super smooth drag system and incorporate fast line pick up. The design of the X-Series has strong beams forming an X shape that extend into wide line guard. This design allow for protection of the rear spool rim where the reel can make contact with the ground or anything it is leaned against.

The new SCF-X drag is built with a sealed Teflon® and carbon fiber disc system. A large adjustment knob allows for easy adjustment even with wet or cold fingers.

The Nautilus X-Series fly reels are perfect for trout fishing, warm water species and are saltwater rated so they can be used on species like bonefish and redfish.

The Nautilus X-Series XL Max size fly reel is designed for 7 thru 9 weight fly rods. If you are looking for an inexpensive saltwater fly reel that is super high-quality this is it. It makes a nice lightweight steelhead fly reel too.

The unique design has arch design that is extremely ventilated and has a dual palming rim. The sides of the frame leave the spool totally exposed, and the back spool rim has a generous 1/8″ secondary palming rim for added fish control. This heavy- duty secondary palming rim has the strength to withstand everyday wear and tear.

The X-Series spool is a new spin on Nautilus’ ultra light, award winning Giga arbor design. It is lighter than any spool of a similar size Nautilus has ever built.

Available in three frame sizes: XS – 3.25” Diameter, 3.8 oz, XM – 3.5” diameter, 4.1 oz,  and a 4” frame XL that will accept the standard XL Giga arbor spool for a 6/7 weight and the XL MAX Giga arbor spool that will fit an 8/9 weight line. At a mere 4.7 ounces the XL and XL MAX will handle your larger fresh water species and light salt water needs perfectly.
