Buzz it. Swim it. All All-New Rods for Swim Frogs …
St. Croix has always strived to provide bass anglers with exactly the rods they need for the situation and the presentation, from power to finesse. Now, catering to the growing trend of bass anglers fishing swim frogs, St. Croix is proud to introduce two new rods designed specifically for the presentation at the upcoming Bassmaster Classic in Knoxville, TN.
But the rods are no one trick pony. Not only are the rods designed to work specifically for topwater “buzz frogs,” they are equally adept at managing swim jigs in the same waters that swim frogs excel, as well as traditional topwater frogs, big swimbaits, speed worms, and more. Truly, the rods excel throughout the entire water column, from swim frogs thrown around docks and cypress trees knees to working a keel-weighted swimbait in sparse cover, the Mojo Bass MJC75MHXF and Legend Tournament Bass LBC75MHXF are must-have rods.
With that, meet the new for 2020, Mojo Bass Swim Frog casting rod, MJC75MHXF, a medium-heavy power, extra-fast action 7’5” weapon comprised of SCIII carbon fiber. The rod now occupies a niche anglers have long been looking for—and at a price, $140, certain to please anglers on all budgets.
For fans of the Legend Tournament Bass series, anglers will be ecstatic over the release of the new LBC75MHXF Swim Frog model, a gorgeous 7’5” piece of rod artistry in medium-heavy power with extra-fast action and comprised of SCIV carbon with IPC®, ART™, and FRS technologies.
Mojo Bass Glass Reimagined …
New for 2020, St. Croix has reimagined the Mojo Bass Glass series—and what you’ll find is the addition of IPC mandrel technology and designs to meet the needs of anglers that know and understand the value of a premium moderate action glass rod… and at a Mojo Bass price point.
The Mojo Bass Glass series includes five moderate action rods—four new casting models and one new spinning rod—covering a wide range of technique-specific applications. What anglers will find are specially-designed models suited to target cranking, chatterbaits and rattlebaits, multi-purpose crankbait fishing, as well as a model designed specifically for plus-sized crankbaits.
The casting rod line-up starts with the MGC610MM TARGET CRANKER, a 6’10” medium power rod. Next is the MGC72MM CRANKER, a 7’2” medium power rod. Fans of chatterbaits and rattlebaits should rejoice over the MGC72HM RIP-N-CHATTER, a 7’2” heavy power stick incredibly adept at shaking a rattlebait or slicing a chatterbait through the salad. And, for those big crankbaits, meet the MGC74MHM BIG CRANKER, a 7’4” medium-heavy power rod. Lastly, on the spinning rod and crankbait front, St. Croix is happy to offer the MGS72MM CRANKER, a 7’2” medium power rod. All models retail in the real-world range of $140-$160US Dollars.
Hot Rods for Hot Baits and Hot Spring Bites …
Building on extensive customer feedback, St. Croix is proud to introduce two rods designed specifically for fishing crankbaits, rattlebaits and chatterbaits—techniques seeming to get more play day after day for their near magical fish-catching potential.
“As more and more anglers from coast to coast utilize these techniques we started to hear that glass rods designed specifically for the approaches were needed. Our response? Set about designing them as soon as possible and utilize our extensive testing machinery inside and outside the factory to fine tune them to fish like no other rods had before for lipless crankbaits, chatterbaits, and more,” says Jesse Simpkins, Director of Marketing, St. Croix.
The feedback from testers was strong. Throughout the extensive testing stages, the rods proved highly effective for ripping lipless or lipped crankbaits out of vegetation and outstanding for throwing both swim jigs and chatterbaits. Additionally, testers Carter and Rose Lee Koza won two tournaments throwing chatterbaits on the prototype Legend Glass LGC72HM.
So, without further ado, meet the Legend Glass LGC72HM casting rod, a 7’2” heavy power, moderate action chatterbait weapon comprised of super premium linear S-glass, with a price tag of $260.
Fans of chatterbaits and rattlebaits should also rejoice over the Mojo Bass Glass MGC72HM / RIP-N-CHATTER, a 7’2” heavy power, moderate action stick with a real-world $160 price tag, making the rod within reach of anglers on all budgets.
